Full Job Description

Responsibilities

 

  • Carry out duties of a WTO or WTS at depot or mainline tunnel or viaduct environment.
  • Comply with the rules and regulations in accordance with the Works Train Manual.
  • Ensure safe movement of EC/PV inside the Defined Areas of mainline or depot.
  • Operate and direct the movement of the EC/PV under his charge within the Defined Area in a safe manner in accordance with the Works Train Manual.
  • Assist the Works Train Controller/ Control Centres in shunting of EC/PV in the Defined Area.
  • Take instructions from the Works Train Controller and consist person-in-charge for all the movements of rail vehicles.
  • Setting and securing of point machine (trackside equipment).
  • Assist in the on-the-job training of new WTO & WTS attached to the EC/ PV.
  • Carry out other duties assigned by the Works Train Manager or his representatives.

 

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum NTC 2/3, GCE O-level or equivalent qualifications. The Personnel
    shall preferably have relevant past working experience in a railway environment and general construction safety knowledge or experience.
  • Able to do any allocated shift of the three-rotating 8-hour shift duties.
  • Able to do overtime work on a regular basis.
  • Able to work independently and take instructions from the WTCO.
  • Able to take charge, monitor and control small work groups.
  • Able to report for duty during exigencies, etc.
  • Able to handle situations, incidents, accidents and implement recovery
    measures.
  • Able to work in construction environments.
